An invitation only event for elderly members of the Syrian Jewish community. Guest speaker Ruben Shimonov (National Director of Sephardi House and Education at the American Sephardi Federation) will take us on a journey into the rich visual traditions of—and connections between—Arabic, Hebrew and Persian calligraphy. We will discover the connections between these ancient languages. Ruben will also exhibit his own multilingual calligraphy—sharing the ways he has used his art to build interfaith bridges and celebrate the cultural diversity of the Greater Sephardi world.The session will conclude with a hands-on workshop where participants can engage directly with these beautiful scripts.
