SUMMARY:Synagogues of Greece exhibit opening
DESCRIPTION:MAKING THE INVISIBLE VISIBLE THROUGH ARCHITECTURE\, TECHNOLOGY\, AND STORYTELLING \nJoin us for the opening of an exciting new museum exhibit featuring decades of dedicated research by Elias Messinas on past and present synagogues from across Greece. \nView digital reconstructions of lost synagogues and discover the evolution of Greek synagogue architectural styles from ancient times through today. \nElias Messinas is an architect and urban planner. He was the first architect to complete a comprehensive in-situ survey and documentation on Greek synagogues\, backed by extensive archival research and interviews by survivors. His work has been published widely\, including 10 books on his 30-year journey throughout Greece. Since 2016\, he was the leading architect for the preservation of synagogues in Thessaloniki\, Trikala\, and Kos\, and he was commissioned by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture to enrich the Archaeological Registry with more than 270 Jewish sites throughout Greece.
